How does speaking practice use my microphone?
Speaking exercises ask you to listen and then say a phrase aloud. Select Speak, allow microphone access when your browser asks, and Langsly scores your pronunciation.
How to do it
- Listen to the model audio. Use the speaker button to hear it again.
- Select Speak. The first time, your browser asks for microphone permission; choose Allow.
- Say the text while Listening… is shown. Each attempt stops after 15 seconds.
- Review your Pronunciation, Accuracy, Fluency, and Completeness scores, then choose Try again or Continue.
- Not ready to speak? Select Not now to move on.
Frequently asked questions
- It says microphone permission was denied.
- Allow microphone access for langsly.com in your browser’s site settings, reload the page, and select Speak again.
- Does skipping hurt my score?
- No. Speaking items do not count toward your stage score.
- It says no speech was heard.
- Move to a quieter place, hold the device closer, and select Try again.
